In 2013, the most significant MARBC-organized events will include 18th Annual Russian-American Innovation Technology Week (RANIT) on September 23-27, 2013 and November 13-22, 2013 and Days of Russian-American Innovation Entrepreneurship Cooperation (RAVC 2013) on October 17-23, 2013. The 18th RANIT will mark the 10th anniversary of RANIT and include discussions with business leaders, policymakers, financiers, and technology corporations to promote technological cooperation between Russian and American businesses. RAVC 2013 will bring together entrepreneurs, scientists, venture capitalists, and established Russian and American corporations to explore and shape the field of innovation technology. RANIT and RAVC programs and activities are designed to help foster dialogue and cooperation. They are supported by nearly 30 leading American and Russian business and governmental organizations, including the administrations of the City of Philadelphia and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and Mid-Atlantic regional organizations focusing on international business, technology, innovations, and entrepreneurship. Russian delegations that will take part in these events will consist of representatives from the foremost Russian companies and educational institutions in innovation technology and related industries as well as senior federal and regional government officials.
The first part of the 18th Annual Russian-American Innovation Technology Week (RANIT) will take place in Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., and the Mid-Atlantic Region from September 23-27, 2013. It will focus on biotechnology, the pharmaceutical industry, medical equipment, life sciences, alternative energy, nanotechnology, the chemical industry, information technology, technology in education, and entrepreneurship. Key Russian-American RANIT events will include Russian-American Innovation Technology, University Research & Commercialization Conference at the University City Science Center in Philadelphia on September 27. Russian-American Innovation Technology, University Research & Commercialization Conference will feature discussions on new technology and university-related commercialization. The event will begin with remarks on developing innovation systems in various countries. A multi-country panel will discuss the current connection between university research commercialization and entrepreneurship in Russia, Israel, and the United States. Russian-American Innovation Technology, University Research & Commercialization Conference will also feature the presentation of the story of the first Russian company with an office at the University City Science Center. Other RANIT events will include AdvaMed 2013 Conference, the premier medical technology conference and exhibition for businessmen and financiers in the Med Tech field, from September 23-25 at the Walter Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.; and Association of University Research Parks (AURP) 2013 International Conference "Inventing the Future" from September 25-27 in Philadelphia, which will bring together high-tech economic development officials from around the world and include discussions on the most effective university research park methods and practices.
The final part of the 18th Annual Russian-American Innovation Technology Week will take place from November 13-22, 2013. Key Russian-American RANIT events will include Russian-American Innovation Technology Roundtable and Closing Ceremony in Philadelphia City Hall on November 21. The 18th RANIT also featured the presentation of the story of the first Russian company with an office at the University City Science Center, the biggest and oldest urban technology park in the United States. Other RANIT programs will include "Life Sciences Future" on November 13; Global Innovation Partnership Forum on November 20-21; Greenbuild on November 20-22; and additional Russian-American activities in conjunction with the Global Entrepreneurship Week..
The Days of Russian-American Innovation Entrepreneurship Cooperation (RAVC 2013) will be held in Philadelphia from October 17-23, 2013. It will open with the University City Science Center 50th Anniversary Celebration on October 17. The Science Center is the biggest and oldest urban technology park in the United States. Additional RAVC events will include a roundtable at the International Incubator at the Science Center, featuring presentations by company residents, including the first Russian company with an office at the University City Science Center in Philadelphia. As part of RAVC 2013, MARBC is organizing the Russian - American Technology Entrepreneurship Conference on October 22. MARBC is also facilitating Russian participation in the Mid-Atlantic Venture Conference (IMPACT 2013) on October 22-23. IMPACT is one of the oldest venture capital events in the United States that gives the participants a unique opportunity to access private investors and the largest regional venture funds.
